When Technology and Love Meet Eye-to-Eye

Technology wears two hats.

  • One makes our lives simpler
  • The other takes control

There are times I am drowning in a barrage of emails, tweets, posts, and entirely TMI (too much information).

This past weekend was not one of those times.

Tahoe & Technology

I returned this week from a fabulous weekend in beautiful Crystal Bay, Nevada.

In a lovely home sitting on Lake Tahoe, my Fight Like A Girl teammates and I celebrated our 10-year anniversary as a team for the 3-Day Walk for the Cure.

In a world where smartphones have become an appendage, we found a better use of technology.

We captured the beauty and love of friendship.

We laughed. We hugged. We shared. And we used technology to treasure the moment.

It is times like these that I love technology.

  • No more waiting for the store to develop pictures
  • Smartphones deliver on what’s smart
  • Technology helps, but does not hinder

We knew when to put aside technology to connect with each other. We remembered to enjoy the view.

We embraced the love and friendship that 10 years of caring planted in our hearts.

And technology saved and shared it all.

Now, that’s meeting eye-to-eye on what’s important in life.

And that’s one of the reasons why I love my smartphone, Cathy. All those fleeting moments that would otherwise only live in memory are captured forever.

almost enough to make me want a smart phone… almost… digital pix sure are easier than the older kind. Sounds like a great trip.

I love that someone is even slower to adapt than I am. Of course, you have the iPad and I don’t, Anne. 😉

And the trip was fabulous. Thank you.

Way to make my smartphone feel much smarter, Cathy. 🙂 I have a love/hate with that device anyway, so I’m glad to see so much good come from all that connectivity.

So glad you had such a great time. 🙂

My smartphone is not the smartest when it comes to pictures. Then again, it is very possible, it’s the user. 😉
